Eden Fellowship in paediatrics- Closing date 12 February 2016

Ideally the award would enable doctors interested in neonatology and paediatric developments in infancy to acquire a new skill or experimental technique in a national or international laboratory, external to their base department, in order to allow the holder to return to their home unit and develop their research.

Applications would be considered from suitably qualified medical graduates in obstetrics, paediatrics and medicine in the UK wishing to visit a centre of excellence in UK or study abroad for at least one month. The aim of the award will be to promote early research experience and training for academically able junior doctors, including integrated academic trainees. Prolonged periods of study would be considered to contribute towards a period of research for up to a maximum of 3 years with a stipend awarded each year. The maximum award for each fellowship will be £30,000

Graham Bull prize and Goulstonian lecture- Closing date 1 April 2016

The Graham Bull prize was established in 1988 in honour of Sir Graham Bull, who was the first director of the Clinical Research Centre at Northwick Park. A trust for the Graham Bull prize was set up to provide money for young research workers under the age of 45 who feel that they have made a major contribution to clinical science. The prize as designed by the trust is specifically for an application and not for nomination of individuals. The work can cover a wide range of expertise, such as molecular and cellular biology, imaging technology, psychiatry, or health sciences. The award is open to RCP members and fellows who must apply for their own work to be considered. The sum of £1,000 is offered on a competitive basis each year.
